ITS-2450 - Business Analytics and Data Visualization* (3) Prerequisite: BAD-1335 or ITS-1010 or ITS-1055
Students learn the basic concepts of business analytics and data visualization. Topics include: building and implementing a business analytics and data visualization systems utilizing Microsoft Excel, scenario management, what-if analysis, and the use of the Excel Solver tool. Heavy emphasis is placed on using analytics and data visualization systems for business decisions. Business application development techniques are applied to aid in the development of complex business analytics and data visualization systems
List Course Outcomes (consistent for all sections) CO1 - List, define, and identify the components of an information system and how they can be used for decision support.
CO2 - Describe decision support systems and how to identify when they are appropriate as a solution to a business problem.
CO3 - Utilize spreadsheets to aid in business decision making.
CO4 - Design and create a decision support system for a business.
CO5 - Collaborate with a team in reporting on the use of a decision support system in a particular company.
