PTA-2040 - Physical Therapist Assistant V* (3)

Prerequisite: PTA-2010 ; PTA-2020 ; PTA-2030 ; must be enrolled in the Physical Therapist Assistant program
Co-requisite: PTA-2050 ; PTA-2060 ; PTA-2070   

In this course students focus on the theory and pathology of the neurologically involved patient. Special emphasis is placed on skills development in neurodevelopmental techniques. The lecture portion of this course is offered through distance learning and the laboratory portion is held at Anne Arundel Community College. Travel to Anne Arundel Community College is the responsibility of the student.

CO1 - Analyze the anatomy, etiology, and pathology involved in common neurological conditions

CO2 - Demonstrate competence in interventions for neurological conditions across the lifespan and within the PT plan of care

CO3 - Demonstrate competence with data collection methods for neurological conditions across the lifespan and within the PT plan of care

CO4 - Use clinical problem solving to formulate interventions and patient progressions for common neurological conditions within the PT plan of care

CO5 - Adapt communication to effectively meet the needs of patients, caregivers, and members of the health care team
