SPA-1020 - Elementary Spanish II* (H, C) (3) Prerequisite: SPA-1010 or two years of high school Spanish
SPA-1010 completed with a minimum grade of “C” or two years of high school Spanish. (High school classes must have at least a grade of B and have been taken within the past 3 years, or a proficiency test will be required.)
A continuation of Spanish 1010, students continue developing their Spanish language skills and cultural competence. This course is designed to improve student’s proficiency in speaking, writing, reading, and listening at the novice level according to the ACTFL. Spanish is spoken in the classroom. This course satisfies the General Education Humanities requirement and the Core Competency for Cultural and Global Awareness.
List Course Outcomes (consistent for all sections) CO1 - Construct short messages using simple grammatical structure sentences on familiar topics.
CO2 - Identify key words on non-complex texts and statements in which the context is familiar.
CO3 - Communicate short messages on predictable topics and responding to simple questions using basic sentence-level structure.
CO4 - Analyze aspects and traditions of the Spanish Speaking world.
