MLT-2018L - Mycology, Parasitology, and Virology Lab* (2)

Prerequisite: MLT-1022 MLT-1022L MLT-1042 MLT-1042L MLT-1060 MLT-1060L ; BIO-2010 BIO-2010L  
Students learn and safely practice techniques used to isolate and identify medically important fungi, parasites, and viruses.  A passing grade of “C” is required in this course.

List Course Outcomes (consistent for all sections)
CO1 - Safely demonstrate medical laboratory culturing techniques and principles of antimicrobial susceptibility.

CO2 - Evaluate growth patterns and biochemical testing used in the identifications and analysis of microorganisms.

CO3 - Discuss host immunity, lines of defense, pathogenicity, and epidemiology of invading microorganisms.

CO4 - Differentiate and safely perform laboratory testing used to detect STDs.
