MLT-1042L - Hematology Lab* (2) Prerequisite: MLT-1012 ; MLT-1012L ; BIO-1060 ; BIO-1060L Co-requisite: MLT-1042
Students learn and safely practice basic techniques used in a hematology lab including complete blood counts, coagulation tests, and other measurement methods. A passing grade of “C” is required in this course.
List Course Outcomes (consistent for all sections) CO1 - Describe the stages and function of normal hematopoiesis and hemostasis.
CO2 - Describe the pathophysiology and detection of blood disorders such as leukemia and anemia.
CO3 - Evaluate common disease processes which affect coagulation laboratory findings.
CO4 - Discuss the role of Quality Assessment in hematology and coagulation laboratory analysis.
